COA partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards. COA envisions excellence in the delivery of human services globally, resulting in the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
The value and credibility of COA accreditation are formally recognized in more than 100 distinct instances in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and British Columbia, Canada. The Department of Family and Children's Services (DCFS) in Illinois is COA accredited and requires all residential agencies with whom they contract to be COA certified.
