Counselor, On-Call

STATUS: On-call

JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide supervision and guidance to resident children and adolescents who have behavior and emotional disorders. Requires flexibility to work on multiple units/programs where and when staff shortages dictate. Responsibilities include modeling and monitoring appropriate daily living skills and behavior; implementation of safety and health procedures; behavior and incident documentation; participation in treatment team meetings; engagement in appropriate therapeutic interventions as needed; planning activities; transporting residents; and other duties. Training includes First Aid, CPR, Infection Control, Medication, Maltreatment of Minors and Vulnerable Adults, and physical intervention techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Related experience preferred; Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver license and acceptable driving record; Requires the ability to work a flexible work schedule, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance, and the ability to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to execution of daily activities within a residential treatment center.
