Teaching Assistant, Substitute

STATUS: On-call

JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide support to the education faculty in the area of student learning, supervision and safety in a private year-round school, operated in conjunction with a residential treatment facility serving adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders. Additional responsibilities include providing classroom assistance in the areas of instruction, preparation of classroom materials, records management, classroom supervision, and administration and monitoring of health and safety procedures. Also provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet the paraprofessional requirements as outlined by the Illinois State Board of Education which includes at least 2 years of college credits, an Associate's Degree or demonstrate the knowledge and ability to assist in instruction of reading readiness, writing and mathematics readiness through a formal State or local academic assessment.
