Nexus Family Partnership Initiative
Supporting Families Before, During, & After Treatment
At Nexus, we understand that residential treatment is just one step toward a happier,
brighter future for you and your child. To achieve lasting healing and healthy change,
family relationships that were damaged by long-standing emotional or behavioral
issues must be deepened and repaired. That’s why we partner with families right
from the beginning.
Our Family Partnership Initiative is our promise to support positive family interactions
during a child’s treatment. We do that by really listening to and including family
in treatment decisions, helping families maintain contact with their child, developing
effective communication with staff, involving family in the child’s day-to-day care
and activities, creating positive family experiences and memories during treatment,
and working with family to promote healthy change and lasting healing. You can read

We believe that family provides the most important support in a child’s life, and
that a strong connection to family is important to a youth’s lasting recovery. We
also know that when a child enters treatment, the whole family is affected. Youth
and families come to Nexus after struggling for years with aggressive or abusive
behavior, family relationship challenges, anxiety and depression issues, cutting
behaviors, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, chemical dependency,
reactive attachment disorder, trauma-based mental health issues, and cognitive distortions.
We help youth and families regain control through a proven treatment program that
provides real hope and lasting success. Nexus has been helping children and families
for decades. Let us help you.
We Believe:
- A lasting family connection is vital to a youth’s successful treatment outcome.
- All children in our care should be treated like our own.
- Family connection is every child’s basic right and necessity. Our rules will support,
rather than hinder, healthy family interactions.
- Open and ongoing communication is the key to effective family partnerships.
- Family involvement is necessary throughout the treatment process and the family
is our partner in treating the youth in our care.
- Family education and connection to appropriate resources is a vital part of the
Nexus treatment model.
