From our perspective, family is defined as those special people who
are willing to support a child through treatment. It is important for
you to know that we believe your supportive participation in treatment
is an essential element for a positive outcome. We understand it is
difficult for a parent or other supportive individual to turn care of
a child over to strangers, and therefore we remain sensitive of this.

Nexus believes children need the help and support of family members to lead healthy, happy lives. As a parent or family member concerned about a struggling child, you are taking the first stepresearching how you can help.
This is probably an emotional time filled with many questions: Does my child need residential treatment? If so, what are my options?
Usually, a probation officer, social worker, therapist or attorney, for example, will refer a child to residential treatment; at this point, the child has been through counseling, group therapy, support groups or other types of treatment, and nothing has helped.
Residential treatment is offered at our four treatment sites, based on type of programming, gender and age groups. Funding is provided by parents or family members, and the daily rate, called per diem, is determined by each site.
