Inpatient psychiatric care is provided through partnership with an Illinois-based
hospital to provide your child with stabilization, medical consultation, a safe
environment, time to create a treatment plan, and assistance with successful program
re-entry. Your child’s inpatient psychiatric intake is determined by Nexus staff
at the Indian Oaks treatment site or a community provider.
Boys and girls are considered for hospital-based psychiatric
care if they have exhibited
- • Cutting Behaviors
- • Eating Disorders
- • Acute Emotional or Behavioral Difficulties
- • A Danger to Self, Others, or Property
- • Aggressive Behaviors
- • Suicidal/Homicidal Thoughts & Behaviors
- • Depression
- • Previous Hospitalizations Inpatient program
Specialists include a team of psychiatrists/medical directors, psychologists, registered
nurses, mental health technicians and specialists, case managers, clinical directors/unit
managers, directors of behavioral services, teachers, and secretaries. Together,
these experts use an invitational, gender-responsive, cutting-edge, structured,
safe, and collaborative treatment to help your child focus on positive attributes
and opportunities for empowerment.
