For Males
DD Juvenile Sex Offender Programs
For Females
DD Psychiatric Programs
This program is designed to help youth with IQs between 55 and 70 who exhibit emotional, behavioral and/or psychiatric disturbances and can benefit from a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and/or residential treatment.
Our focus is to help youth use and build upon their strengths, so they can safely return to the community.
We have programs for males who have either been adjudicated for a sexual offense or who struggle with problematic sexual behaviors, and we have a program for developmentally delayed females who exhibit emotional and behavioral disturbances.
This specialized treatment program utilizes treatment materials and methods that are geared specifically to the learning styles and cognitive, emotional and relational needs of these youth.
Treatment takes place within a safe and respectful environment where youth learn to accept responsibility for their behaviors, gain empathy for others and practice making healthier choices.
Highly individualized programming with all residents also addresses issues related to educational, recreational, and vocational goals.
Accountability is integral to all of the programs and is fostered through a system of progressive privileges. Each program unit has adopted and incorporated a theme into the program milieu or environment, encouraging engagement in the treatment process and assisting the youth in grasping treatment-related concepts.
Discharge planning is initiated upon admission and assistance is provided
for arranging discharge and placement services for residents returning home
or re
-entering the community into independent living, foster care and/or
other supervised living arrangements. Through this service, the treatment
team collaborates with placing agents to coordinate referrals for further
therapy and other necessary support services. In addition, the treatment
team remains in contact with the resident for up to three years after discharge
to monitor progress, provide support, or make additional referrals.
