This program is designed to help youth who exhibit a wide range of sexually reactive or aggressive behaviors, and the goal is to safely return youth to families and communities with improved problem-solving and decision-making skills, so they become productive members of society. And to achieve this, our residential juvenile sex offender treatment programs address specific treatment issues:
Treatment takes place within a safe and respectful environment where youth learn to accept responsibility for their behaviors, gain empathy for others and practice making healthier choices.
Highly individualized programming with all residents also addresses issues related to educational, recreational, and vocational goals.
Accountability is integral to all of the programs and is fostered through a system of progressive privileges. Each program unit has adopted and incorporated a theme into the program milieu or environment, encouraging engagement in the treatment process and assisting the youth in grasping treatment-related concepts.
Discharge planning is initiated upon admission and assistance is provided
for arranging discharge and placement services for residents returning
home or re-entering the community into independent living, foster care
and/or other supervised living arrangements. Through this service, the
treatment team collaborates with placing agents to coordinate referrals
for further therapy and other necessary support services. In addition,
the treatment team remains in contact with the resident for up to three
years after discharge to monitor progress, provide support, or make additional
referrals
