This program is designed to help youth who exhibit emotional, behavioral and/or psychiatric disturbances and can benefit from a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and/or residential treatment.

Each child receives a complete medical, social and psychiatric evaluation upon admission to develop an individualized treatment plan. Treatment goals are tailored for each resident based on his or her functioning and special needs, age and history.

Therapy
Individual, group and family therapy are provided during treatment. Individual therapy focuses on the specific problems of each child and deals with issues that hinder the child's ability to gain insight into feelings and associated behaviors. Group therapy offers an open, supportive atmosphere where children can improve social skills, develop an improved sense of responsibility and increase their awareness of the needs and rights of others. Parents and other family members participate in the family therapy program.

Basic Life Skills
The program provides a specially designed environment in which the events of daily living are utilized as formats for teaching competence in basic life skills. The environment becomes both a means and content for growth and change, directed by a culture that stresses learning through living and the belief that growth occurs throughout the context of relationships.
Emphasis is placed on providing therapy in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe. The primary goal is to help children and families develop insights and coping skills that can be transferred to a family living situation.
