Mille Lacs Academy offers a variety of programs and services.
Residential Juvenile Sex Offender Treatment Program
Mille Lacs Academy offers three residential juvenile sex offender treatment
programs for males ages 10 to 19 years old. The older adolescent program
allows a resident to stay until his 19th birthday if he has been certified
under Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction.
- Program I, Cornerstone Stadium, Males ages 13 to 15
- Program 2, Navigators, Males ages 16 to 18 (19 if Extended Juvenile Jurisdiction)
- Program 3, The Ship, Males ages 10 to 12
Developmentally Delayed Juvenile Sex Offender Treatment Program
This residential treatment program provides specialized treatment to males
ages 14 to 18 who have either been adjudicated for a sexual offense or
who struggle with problematic sexual behaviors. These youth are developmentally/cognitively
challenged with IQs between 55 and 70 and do not experience significant
medical difficulties.
- Program 4, Cornerstone Speedway, Males ages 14 to 18
Transitional Living Program (New Trails Group Home)
This program provides an eight-bed homelike setting for males ages 14 to
19 during their final stages of treatment. They learn to develop independent
living skills needed for successful community reintegration.
Mille Lacs Academy School
On-site education is provided by Mille Lacs Academy School, which is part
of the local public-school system.
