Contact with Your Child
You are an important part of your child’s treatment.
Family participation is vital to your child’s success at Indian Oaks Academy. Nexus
programs use individual, group, and family therapy in your child’s treatment, and
you will be asked to participate in these programs. You will also meet with your
child’s therapist to determine a meetings schedule and create a list of individuals
who can safely exchange phone calls with your child during his/her stay at Indian
Oaks Academy.
When your child arrives at Indian Oaks Academy, he/she will be evaluated and an
individualized treatment plan will be created for him/her. As your child progresses
through treatment, that plan may be revised.
Your child’s therapist will advise you on visiting your child while he/she is in
treatment. If distance is an issue, Nexus will provide you with free videoconferencing
capability and equipment to help you stay in touch with your child or provide financial
or transportation assistance to make visits possible.
After your child completes his/her treatment plan at Indian Oaks Academy, we’ll
still be here to help. We provide follow-up services including monitoring, support,
and additional referrals for up to three years after treatment, as needed.
