Family Focus, Inc., is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services under Rule IV. This authorizes Family Focus to license homes and place youth whose special needs cannot be met by their primary caregivers.

We provide coordinated program services for children and youth in placement.

Family Focus is a private foster care, adoption, and certified therapeutic supports agency.

The non-profit, family-centered agency provides personalized care plans for youth and families throughout Minnesota and has offices in Minneapolis, Austin, and Duluth, MN. The agency provides children and families with professional services that foster the development of healthy family relationships and supportive living environments. Family Focus social workers/case workers work closely with foster parents to assist them in day-to-day skill-building, maintaining a stable environment, and assisting in crisis situations as they may arise.

SPECIALIZED FOSTER CARE

For youth who require out-of-home professional care in the least-restrictive environment.

• Licensed through DHS Rule 4
• Assistance for youth in transition from residential treatment
• For youth with special needs, such as emotional, behavioral, correctional, or developmental issues
• Intensive involvement of biological parents
• Individualized treatment plans
• Transition youth to independent living
• Whole family placements

PROFESSIONAL HOME-BASED SERVICES

Family-centered, home-based therapy through Children’s Therapeutic Support Services that provides skill-building and mentoring services.

• Prevents unnecessary placement of youth outside the home
• Support and skill training for families
• Diagnostic assessment services

ALTERNATIVE TO RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT (ART)

Help for chemically-dependent, seriously and emotionally disturbed youth, or any other youth needing an intensive treatment model.

• An alternative to residential placement or as an after-care program
• Experienced social workers/case workers provide weekly case management
• Increased supervision in a structured living environment with experienced foster parents
• Independent living skills training
• Foster care parents with specific areas of expertise receive additional respite and allowance

ADOPTION

Family Focus is licensed by the Department of Human Services to provide Minnesota families with adoption services.

• Recruitment and preparation of adoptive families and adoptable children and youth
• Counseling and special training for the adoptive family
• Preparation of the child for adoptive placement
• Case management and supervision of the child’s adoptive placement
• Referral services
