Partnering to Create Progressive Treatment Options

Gerard Academy programming partners with youth, family, county, and community resources to provide individualized plans that focus on lasting outcomes following treatment.

The staff and leadership at Gerard continually seek ways to create progressive and unique treatment options, increase its continuum of care, expand its geographic reach, and provide more proximate services to better meet the needs of children and families in its care.

Gerard Academy’s residential treatment programs and on-site, year-round school provide cognitive behavioral therapy for boys and girls, ages 6-19, who are struggling with family relationships, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, aggression, depression, self-harm, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, chemical health, patterns of abusive behavior, and trauma-based mental health issues.

A private nonprofit organization, Gerard Academy has provided treatment services to youth for more than four decades. Today, we continue to support and care for children in difficult circumstances with a program mix that is progressive and responsive to those we serve. Treatment components include unit milieu; individual, group, and family therapy; and on-site, year-round education.

Gerard offers an array of high-quality services to give children and families the tools and skills they need to successfully return to home and community. Programming is accredited by The Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services (COA) and licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and Department of Health. New Dominion School is accredited by AdvancEd.
