Contact with Your Adolescent

You are an important part of your adolescent’s treatment.

Family participation is vital to your adolescent’s success at Onarga Academy. Nexus programs use individual, group, and family therapy in your adolescent’s treatment, and you will be asked to participate in these programs. You will also meet with your adolescent’s therapist to determine a meetings schedule and create a list of individuals who can safely exchange phone calls with your adolescent during his stay at Onarga Academy.

When your adolescent arrives at Onarga Academy, he will be evaluated and an individualized treatment plan will be created for him. As your child progresses through treatment, that plan may be revised.

Your adolescent’s therapist will advise you on visiting your adolescent while he is in treatment. If distance is an issue, Nexus will provide you with free videoconferencing capability and equipment to help you stay in touch with your adolescent or provide financial or transportation assistance to make visits possible.

After your adolescent completes his treatment plan at Onarga Academy, we’re still here to help. We provide follow-up services including monitoring, support, and additional referrals for up to three years after treatment, as needed.
